Tune-up lanes

Quiet shifting, firm brakes, ready miles

Scheduled tune-ups keep small annoyances from becoming roadside walks across Pest or Buda.

Tune-up levels we offer

A tune-up at Lingers Reveling is a structured pass across safety and performance systems—not a vague wipe-down. We start with tire pressure and tread, then inspect cables or hoses, pad thickness, rotor or rim condition, chain wear, and fastener torque on stems, bars, and seatposts. Shifting is indexed under load where possible; brakes are centered and bedded so the first stop after pickup feels intentional.

City riders often choose a standard tune-up twice a year: once after winter grit and once before summer heat. Touring and gravel bikes may need a deeper service that includes drivetrain cleaning, bearing checks, and a spoke tension survey. Folding bikes get hinge and latch attention so the bike does not develop play that shows up as steering flutter on tram tracks.

  • City tune — gears, brakes, safety fasteners, quick lube, bolt check
  • Seasonal reset — city tune plus drivetrain clean and wear measurement
  • Tour prep — seasonal reset plus wheel tension review and spare-parts advice
  • New-bike settle — post-purchase cable stretch and contact-point setup

If we find a worn cassette or a soft tire casing mid-tune, we pause and quote the upgrade before installing anything optional. You stay in control of the budget; we stay responsible for what leaves the stand. That is how tune-ups remain a habit instead of a surprise bill.

When to book

Book a tune-up when shifting hesitates under load, brakes squeal after rain, or the headset clicks over cobbles. Also book when you have not opened the bike in six months—even if it “still rolls.” Preventive service is cheaper than replacing a freehub that seized because the chain was left dry through a salty winter.

Saturday mornings favor shorter jobs; weekdays absorb deeper resets. Email [email protected] with your bike type and symptoms, or call +36 1 555 1840 during bench hours. We will place you on the timetable and confirm pickup windows so you are not guessing when to return.
